Bio-sketchDr. Robert L. Goldberg is the Director of the UCSF Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency Program and an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He is pursuing ergonomics research and education in the UC Ergonomics Program at the UC Berkeley Richmond Field Station and is a consultant in occupational medicine and corporate health and safety, as well as an expert in internet healthcare education. His current research activity on Upper Extremity Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) is supported by a NIOSH U01 grant. He serves on the University of California President’s National Laboratories Council Environment, Safety and Health Panel. He recently retired as the Vice-Chair, Occupational Medicine of the American Board of Preventive Medicine after serving three terms on the Board. He is also a Past-President of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the Western Occupational and Environmental Medical Association. As a member of the California Industrial Medical Council, he led the effort to develop treatment guidelines for physicians for work-related injuries and illnesses. Dr. Goldberg has over twenty years of experience in the prevention and management of upper extremity MSDs. He has authored employee education materials as well as a monograph for
physicians on upper extremity disorders and co-authored and directed a
course for a major multinational employer on Medical Management of Musculoskeletal
Disorders and Office Ergonomics. He also authored and directed the development
of two internet courses: Dental Ergonomics and the Anatomy and Medical
Evaluation of MSDs. |
